The dismissal was effected during the pendency of police investigations which later exonerated him. The High Court upheld the dismissal, but the Court of Appeal reversed that decision and awarded damages equivalent to eighteen months’ salary. The defendant appealed to the Supreme Court. Held: The appeal was dismissed.
